The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze is an event we have attended a few
weeks ago, but somehow it seems appropriate (with it being Halloween
today and all) to put up some pictures of this fantastic exhibition!

Highlights of this happening were many pumpkins turned into art?

And if you think that is easy, check this out! This is quite impressive ;)

I especially enjoyed displays that fed my imagination, like this spooky cage :)

Dinosaurs made entirely out of vegetables were not bad looking either!

For some reason this weird bird thing really got hold of my attention!

There was a lot more to see, much more, like this pink Halloween house!

I really enjoyed this event as it was something I have not seen
before. I think it is good to do new things once in a while. Should
keep ones life from getting stale. Happy Halloween everyone!!!

With uttermost sadness I inform you that our "special" fish called
McFish has passed away. May he (she?) rest in peace... And go to fish
heaven and be greeted by fish angels with trumpets. Good luck McFish!

I have just returned from a lengthy trip to England and Italy. England
has been relatively uneventful, my fiancée was visiting friends and
the highlight of stay there were few day trips, one to Colchester,
which claims to be the oldest city in Britain due to the Roman
settlements built there ages ago and another to Cambridge, which is
famous for all its schools. Rome on the other hand? well there are not
enough words to describe how awed I was with this city. And that is
not just because of all the amazing tasting but very fattening food
and the delicious gelato? No anorexia here as far as I can tell! ;)

Our first stop upon getting to Rome was probably the one place where
everyone heads first! The Colosseum is indeed colossal. All gladiator
fights and more happened here...

Here is a view of this structure in its entirety from a distance. It's huge!

And if you face the other way, you see ruins and columns of ancient
roman city...

This is the site of remains of Roman forum. Most of commerce took
place here and merchants were running shops out of those orange
doorways in the background. An old school mall if you will?

Forum is popular with tourists and tourist spots are popular with
tourist traps. Sometimes however tourist traps can be someone
peculiar. This "old woman" has looked quite convincing at first
glance, shaky arms, legs and all. But I have noticed something
unusual, she has made it a priority to cover up her face and at no
moment would she look up at anyone. I have planted myself and waited
for a while. Finally she quickly lifted her head slightly and looked
around to see what's going on. It is then I noticed that our lady was
no older then 30 years of age. So if you come in Rome let me know if
she is still "working" at the Forum ;)

Many Egyptian obelisks were looted and brought back to Rome. Tons of
them still stand here. This really cute elephant one stands in front
of Santa Maria sopra Minerva, which is Rome's only Gothic church!

And here is inside of the church itself, breathtaking isn't it?

I really liked this section, the statues and stonework are truly marvelous!

Just a short walk over is the Pantheon. Originally a Pagan temple it
was converted to a Christian church. It is one of the oldest well
preserved buildings in the world!

And here is the inside as I walked through the massive doors...

Next stop, Trevi fountain, is the largest baroque fountain in Rome.
The craftsmanship is truly amazing. Water to this one is carried
through one of old Roman aquedacts from water source located 8 miles
away from the city. Earlier this year and for the first time ever one
person from Milan went for a swim in this fountain. She got famous ;)

On the last night we got lost and walked through some amazing but
beautiful parts of Rome. I have discovered this fountain, is it Jesus
looking at me?

Random vines hanged from the arches we passed through. In no other
city have I witnessed such style and beauty...

And so I will definetely be coming back for more in the near future!

I named this special fish McFish? It took me a bit of begging to get
my girlfriend to take him home from the pet store and dump him into
her aquarium. She kept saying he is ugly and disturbing. I say he is
cute and at $1.99 he is a real damn good bargain ;)

Endless hours of entertainment just from looking at this poor creature
and so if your life is lacking amusement I strongly suggest getting
yourself one of your own. And he doesnt even need batteries...
