NYC Halloween 2006
Written by Vita Drakonia

Every year New York City holds its Halloween parade but this was my
first time to attend one. To some extent it was well worth it, but
trying to leave the city at the end took me almost three hours driving
around in circles, as police has barricaded off half of the streets…
For some New Yorkers the party has started early in the afternoon!

NyHalloweenDruggie.jpg

I watched this woman maintain that mysterious position for good 20
minutes. She must have drank quite a bit or did something else, I do
not know what to be convinced that this is ultimately the best way to
hang out on the street ;)

NyHalloweenBums.jpg

And some bums had a get-together to prepare for their own trick or
treating. Fuck the candy, gimme’ a dollar is their daily motto. Blondie
has the best costume and has the best chance to score some cash in my
opinion!

NyHalloweenBreakDance.jpg

Around the corner break dancing team was also collecting donations from
tourists…

Cops were getting ready for all hell to break loose. I am sure they saw
more crazy shit then I did in those few hours. “It is a choice between
McDonalds or pizza man…” is what I overheard them say. Yes, they are
most definitely the New York finest!

NyHalloweenCops.jpg

As it got darker and parade was about to start I made it to 6th avenue
and all the best seats were already taken by these hoodlums…

NyHalloweenOnFence.jpg

And as parade passed by I started realizing that I stand much better
chance to see some interesting stuff walking around the streets then
standing there in a crowd of thousands all trying to watch his
pointless procession!

NyHalloweenParade.jpg

And I was damn right, interesting stuff was just around the corner and
I was missing it. This costume has won Vita’s award of 2006 ;)

NyHalloweenBooty.jpg

And here are the runner ups…

NyHalloweenBstCostume.jpg

It was definitely a fun time and I would do it again next year minus
the bringing the car into the city. It is all too crazy and hectic to
deal with. By the time I got home I crashed and passed out. I hope EA
brings transfers back soon, I have much stuff to transfer around for
recent UO orders. Thanks to all of you who are supporting what I am
doing!

A day in New York City...

Drove into the city yesterday to pay a visit to Museum of Modern Art
and see their photography galleries. Unfortunately they were renovating
the main section and did not see much, although this photo mosaic did
get my attention. Multiple photographs of New York were combined to
create this presentation and effect of two seasons in one!

NyMomaPhotoMosaic.jpg

Got the car out of the parking garage, $19 for two hours, only other
alternative is a $130 parking ticket, so not much of an option really.
New York is one crammed city. Drove downtown through Times Square and
took a picture of NY Police Department station here. It’s a pretty sign
they got just like Yahoo one, but with completely useless people
inside. You get robbed here, don’t bother visiting them unless you have
few hours to waste filling out paperwork that will accomplish
absolutely nothing…

NyTimesSqPolice.jpg

Talking about getting robbed… If you see someone who looks shady like
this, then stay to the other side of the street, or at least keep a
fair distance. This gangster is extremely dangerous. Well not really,
actually he is just a local homie on his way to shop for bling bling
and as long as you don’t look at him funny you probably will not get
stabbed ;)

NyHoodlum.jpg

Further more downtown in Washington Square park they are making a
movie. So I paid them a visit and saw their set. They had some torched
cars to make this look like some “real” action was happening. A guy
with really long arms stretched them across street and did not let me
turn there…

NyMovieSet.jpg

I found free parking near and took a walk around the block. I was on a
search for a good photo subject. Something that would just scream
out “shoot me” and there he was! No I did not ask him to pose; he was
like that when I took a photo!

NyBrownMan.jpg

I had to ride the subway to financial district in order to meet some
people. It was convenient and cheap, $2 ride vs. another $20 parking
garage. But if it looks too good to be true it probably is. New York
subway has a serious rat problem and this is how it is managed.

NyRodentBait.jpg

I do not know how am I to be “cautious” about the fact that there is
rat poison that I must breathe in while waiting for my train. What kind
of safety measures am I to take to protect myself and what is the f’ing
point of this stupid sign. I assure anyone concerned that I am neither
planning to crawl down to the train rails and roll around in the filth,
nor am I particularly interested in eating anything I may find on the
floor in a New York subway! Just things that make me wonder. And this
is all for today…

Where does time go?

I did not have much to write about over the past days, so I didn’t… I
do notice that when I am not traveling time is moving at faster rate
and the feeling I get is as if it is wasted. I did get quite a bit done.
I completed quarterly corporate taxes, check, mailed out application
for passport renewal, check, bought new electric toothbrush, as old one
gave out after 8 years, am running UO sales as usual and even gave my
dog a bath. He does not smell like pee any more… But even so, time just
spirals away into nothingness. I am accomplishing much and yet I feel
that I am accomplishing nothing at all. It is strange and I cannot
understand it, so I just gave up on trying!

After 15 years of being gone from my home country, I am returning to
visit Chisinau, my birthplace city early next year. I will meet a
grandfather that I never knew and visit my apartment complex where I
lived as a boy. I am afraid and excited. I have all these photographic
memories of what things used to be like stored away in my brain, but
will they still match up to current reality? But one thing for certain,
this will allow me to complete important chapters of my autobiography ;)

EuropeMap.jpg

For those curious, you need to look between Romania and Ukraine, you
will be able to find Moldova. I will plot my course there from Austria,
through Slovakia, Poland, Romania, and Bulgaria in that order. This is
scheduled for end of this year and I will probably need one of those
funny Russian hats to survive. It will be f’ing freezing cold for sure...

Now, I am off to crawl under warm blanket and play Elder Scrolls III
Morrowind. I am trying to beat this old Xbox version before I am going
to start Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion on Xbox 360. And tomorrow EB Games
is getting Dark Messiah of Might and Magic for PC, which is one of best
RPG games ever made (download demo, its completely worth it), so I have to beat 3 good RPG’s before more come out! This is starting to feel like work. Oh wait… playing games is my work ;) Well, I guess I better get to it!

I like Chinese, I write book now!
Written by Vita Drakonia

Chinese people are awesome! One has to look beyond MSG and deeply fried
spring rolls that kill Americans daily by the dozen, to find the
surprise sunshine inside of them, just like this one that I saw on NJ
Turnpike yesterday. I do think my new camera does some really good
nature shots. That is if you can call the smog of Jersey City nature…
And the small tiny dot on the side of the left light rays is actually
an airplane that has just lifted off from Newark International Airport!

NJSunRays.jpg

Muffin likes Chinese people too. That is primarily because they make
tasty chicken dishes. And Muffin likes nothing more in this world then
chicken. Sometimes just saying the word “chicken” is enough to get him
to drool a little from his left cheek, like so ;)

MuffinCouch.jpg

But I am getting off the subject… Chinese are grand, and here is why…

ChineseFortune.jpg

Now I finally know that writing the Book about me is definitely going
to make me a million bucks! I mean who would not want to know about me;
little communist x-pioneer of people’s red army turned capitalist UO
broker who does not exactly have his head on straight? The thing is
folks, I am a broken person. Quite literally, not poetically, but in
truth I am not exactly all there at all times. In fact most of the time
life is nothing but a dream to me, in my perception of daily events.
And every single day my reality and my dreams cross over each other so
close at times it is very frightening and not always easy to absorb. So
I have a strange but true story to tell… And Chinese people got my back!

I'm so excited, I just can't hide it!

My baby has arrived! After long deliberation and having to sort through
semi average photos taken with my 2.0 Mega pixel cell phone, I have
finally given in and shelled out few grand of Virtuaz Inc money for a
top of the line professional Canon EOS 30D. So please do buy more UO
stuff to replenish my funds people!

Canon30D.jpg

No longer will I have to look like a dork, trying to pose all so sexy
for myself in front of the bathroom bar mirror splattered white with
only god knows what?

VitalBarMirror.JPG

Now I just need one of these yummy pink Sony Vaio’s that I saw at
DigiLife exhibit in New York City this Sunday *touches himself* and I
am all ready to roll…

SonyVaioPink.JPG

But seriously, it really is depressing when I try and take pictures of
Times Square at night, Mary freaking Poppins and all, and the one shot
I have time for comes out to look like this blurry pile of poo :(

NYMaryPoppins.JPG

So from now on all pictures brought to you will be of professional
quality. I am going pro baby! Well camera is going pro for sure, and I still have a bit of learning to do ;)

Party Time!

What a weekend… For most part at this point in time it is just a
collection of fuzzy memories. Went to see “Man of the Year”, starring
Robin Williams. It was good, but save your money and rent it when it
comes out, nothing too superb here. Drank quite a bit of cider and
puffed a nice amount of hash. Magners cider is the tastiest!

NYMagnersCider.jpg

I was flying high and was informed that I needed to move my car across
the street. A parking ticket was waiting on the windshield the next
day; I guess I should have evaluated where I was moving it to ;) But
hey, I did move it, as two NYC cops watched my flawless intoxicated
performance. I parallel parked from the 1st try, that mirror to mirror
thing works! I gathered up even more courage after and snapped this
photo of Mr. Police Officer walking away…

NYShadowCop.jpg

Back at my sisters apartment we gathered up for a slumber party. Smoked
some more with my visiting relatives. Ami rolls some impressive joints.
Good job man!

VitalAmiMeitalPuffing.JPG

Meital who was Ami’s girlfriend fell in love with my mouth-watering
personality and tried to spread my legs and molest me while her
boyfriend was busy rolling another…

VitalAmiMeitalLegsSpread.JPG

We went downstairs to Sullivan Room and danced for a few hours, by then
everyone was pretty exhausted and we fell asleep while watching Fear
and Loathing in Las Vegas. Now that is some good movie… I could watch
that over and over without getting bored ;) Today is Sunday, god is
resting and I am writing this blog. Some UO deliveries are overdue, so
I may be glued to PC all day. See you all online in a few!

Fri the 13th and I am alive!
Written by Vita Drakonia

Yesterday I ran out of will to wonder the infinite possibilities and
went to the doctor to find out what is actually going on. I was pretty
certain that the 2 inch long steel barbell was stuck inside of my
intestines somewhere poking away at me from the inside. So I sat in the
doctor office of NYU Downtown Medical Center and watched their parking
lot being demolished and dirt loaded into many trucks and driven away.
It was fun to watch, because all the excavators and trucks looked like
miniature toys from up above…

NYParkingLot.JPG

I later overheard in the elevator that they sold it for a large sum of
money to a private developer that will build a huge apartment building
in the area. When that is complete I will provide an “after” picture,
since I already got the “before”. So anyways, as expected my general
practitioner saw me and sent me downstairs to the x-ray room, yey!

NYXrayRoom.JPG

I got to lie on a pillow stripped down to my boxers and a lady with
funny accent told me to hold my breath. Scans were sent over the
network to my physician. Few seconds later I was back upstairs at the
doctor office and was informed to my surprise that there is nothing
inside of me. She showed me x-ray of myself and I was quite perplexed
to see that that indeed was the case. I played surgeon PC games before,
and metal shows up as bright white images you simply cannot miss. None
were to be seen…

VitalXray.JPG

This was good news and I celebrated with some Starbucks coffee and nice
and spicy Indian food. Yes! I could now crap again without fear of
having my ass split in two ;)

NYIndianFood.jpg

Some relatives were in town and I met up with them to show them around
New York. They were wandering around Wall Street area, so I took them
to show the remains of World Trade, Federal Reserve Building and most
importantly NY Stock Exchange, which I took a picture of. That flag is
freaking huge!

NYStockExchange.JPG

Later at night we all went to a show and a dinner and then tested a
stick of Moroccan hash that I have imported back with me from Spain. It
was pure THC goodness and everyone had a great time. This is the most I
have ever giggled in a span of a single day. This morning my head feels
a little fuzzy, but I guess what goes up must come down ;) I am going
to hop on to do UO deliveries for a few hours and then will be meeting
up with them tonight again for a new Robin Williams movie and possibly
a club night out and a lot of alcohol consumption. Amusing photos
coming soon to a website near you!

This takes too long...

48 hours and I still do not have my jewerly back. I feel some sharp
pointy feeling all over my stomach, but everyone says I am just
paranoid :( I hope that is just that, and not actually my stomach
getting ripped from the inside. In any case I am going to wait one more
day and then it is X-Ray time! Who knows, they might find some other
things of interest inside of me...

I have spent some time wondering whether or not to invest in UO 9th
Anniversary boxes. Usually I buy 100 or so boxes to get a hold of rare
promotional items, but this "expansion" just looks so ridiculously
useless! The new deco items are nice, rest are the ones we already had
in game for quite some time and this product in essence just looks to
me like another player milking campaign. But if you love the game,
support it! I probably will buy again, because early settler items
should make a great long term UO investment. That is... unless they
offer them again in subsequent "special rewards" programs. Is that what
could possibly be holding me back in the back of my mind, or am I just
a sucker for lying to myself that it won't happen again this time?
