This graffiti pretty much covers what went down last night. Me and
Sarah went bar hopping, accumulated a number of wristbands and hand
stamps and at end of it all ended up at the Element club for Sub Swara
party. We drank, smoked, made out and of course danced!

By 3am made it back to the car, Sarah passed out. It took me 10 minutes
to get out of the tight spot I was in. I am quite well known for
parking in spaces where no car would dare to try and fit!

As I drove home I realized I was getting quite tired. I also had to pee
really bad. Sarah was sleeping like a baby and I was doing 85 down the
highway. I have made it to Dunkin Donuts and was about to get out of
the car and run in to use their bathroom as I realized flashing red,
blue and white lights behind me. I was pulled over in a freaking donut
shop parking lot! Mr. Jersey Cop wanted to know if I was drinking. I
answered semi-soberly “No, not myself!”

Apparently wanting to piss after having 6 beers is no excuse to speed.
I got off easy with a speeding ticket and having to go to court mid
this month. I hate going to court. Sarah did a good job expressing how
I feel about the whole situation…

Tonight we are going out for dinner with my family and back to club
Love, same place where we met last weekend. We shall drink, dance and
grind. On the way back I am using cruise control at 55mph in the
slowest lane. I can’t wait to move back into the city so I do not have
to drive to enjoy my weekends out. Mid-December 2007, baby!

Past Memorial Day weekend was one of the best that I had in my life. I
know this may sound as a far fetched claim, but it is essentially an
unquestionable fact. Please meet Sarah… She’s Finnish and the one to
blame ;) But first let me rewind a bit!

Friday was spent laying on Brighton Beach and sipping cold beer. Later
at night I took out my friend Melissa to a Queens Strip club that
featured live lesbian shows. It was her apartment warming gift along
with a 2 liter bottle of Jagermeister and two deer shaped pewter shot
glasses. We drank about half a liter between us two and she proceeded
to make out with the lesbians. We decided it would be a good idea to
visit Wiggles sometime again in the future ;)

When I awakened on Saturday we grabbed some lunch and I was going to
drive back home and relax for the rest of the weekend. But something
has stopped me. It was a combination of nice weather, wanting to walk
the city and having some matters to attend to. By the time I was done
with all of the above I was in Chinatown trying to descramble this
sign. Could it really be… “All your base are belong to us”?

I wanted a tattoo of a cute pink dragon for some time now. I was told
there is a great tattoo studio near Chinatown by my pierce guy. So I
tracked them down, on the second floor of some old building. There in
Sacred Tattoo I met a wonderful female artist that specialized in
cartoony artwork. I was told to bring in a sample of style I wanted to
have the dragon done in and she would help me sketch one up. I will be
coming back to her later this week with this sample in hand. Because
this is the style I want Pinky to be done in…

I was quite tired by night time but have decided to visit a record shop
and scout for new upcoming party flyers. There I found one for a house
party that was happening at Love. I have never been to Love, nor have I
ever heard of DJ Harvey, but I was somewhat intrigued by what the flyer
had to say and so to Love I went on Saturday night!

As soon as I walked in, I saw an extremely attractive femme in white
dress that was dancing and having a really good time. Some unknown
force pulled me right to her. It is quite rare that I approach women at
clubs, but this was something exclusive. I cunningly positioned myself
directly on her right side and proceeded to do what I normally do,
dance and enjoy myself. Sarah kept disappearing and reappearing all
through the night. Eventually I cornered her somewhere in the front by
the speaker and we danced together and chatted some. We danced some
more, until the club was almost empty…

It was 6am, we grabbed some light breakfast and I proposed that we nap
in the city park. I still had a picnic blanket with me in the car. It
was covered in sand and somewhat wet, but it did the job. Sarah
accepted. We laid in the grass, watched birds, squirrels and homeless
people. We made out. We slept. Then we made out some more. It was
blissful! Altogether we have spent 48 hours together, going from
compete strangers to one of closest emotional and romantic bonds that I
have yet had a chance to experience. At the “peak” of our acquaintance
we were completely drenched in sweat and melting into one
another. “Submissive delirium” is the best way to describe what I felt...

And so I will be seeing Sarah and her pet lizard again very soon ;)

I have spent most of yesterday people watching in NYC Central Park.
There are all sorts of people of all ages and races here. It was really
nice day out, me and Melissa smoked a blunt. I put on my telescopic
lens and did what I like doing most, sneaking up on random people!

Is that creepy man actually reaching inside his pants? But he is not nearly as eerie as the morbid “bird lady”…

And on the opposite spectrum we have some biking peace loving
hippies. “We love you too” was shouted as me by the lady as she spotted
me taking the shot. Is that like a New York hippie’s equivalent
of “Fuck you pal?” or did she really mean that she loved me? ;)

A street musician; New York has many of them. Some are talented, many
are not. All get paid however. One day maybe I will too invest in a
musical instrument of my own!

Hey look, it’s another old lady with a dog. Poor doggie. He looks as
seasoned as her…

Yey it is the Mexican soccer season. Goooaaaaal bitches !!!

Nothing like reading a book under a shade of a tree. Is that a smelly sewer manhole in the grass?

Children are our future. This one is going to be pushing stuff when she
grows up!

And here is a potential Kmart truck driver. Early practice makes
perfect son…

Here is a probable cheerleader or a supermodel. Too early to tell
exactly which ;)

I am going to the beech this weekend. They say water is still cold. How
could that be, after all it is summer? But seasons have been shifting
lately. Melissa promised to come along and wrestle me in the sand. She
used to be on boys wrestling team and is supposed to be good at it. So
I may get my ass kicked. And that should make good blog material!

A [possible] fall of an Empire? |

I am a New Yorker; this is where my roots are! But it is quite
upsetting to return from England and be sneezing like a sick cat and
have a feeling that my throat was gang raped while I was sleeping. The
pollution and filth is just getting impossible to stomach. They are
speaking of better New York by year 2030. But if I must wait 23 more
years for that, I will surely either be sterile or brain dead from all
the chemicals I ingest right now…
And if it is not nature crisis that will kill us, then surely the
Chinese will get us long before that. As I happily walk down the
street, a Chinese delivery man pulls up in front of me on a bike,
screeching fucking tires and all. He secures his bike to a street post
in an Olympic record of 2 seconds and then he is gone almost as fast as
he had appeared. That is super human to me!
Meanwhile we are sitting on our asses, enjoying the luxuries of life
and maximizing our fun. We regularly consume and hurriedly digest all
available spoon-fed entertainment. And we kill time to erase boredom.
And so [I say] we are sinking to the very bottom of the social food
chain… How much longer can we piggy back ride on the backs of others? I
do not know… I am no economist or sociologist. But what I do know is
that history repeats itself. And we [the Americans] are getting really
fucking sloppy. And when shit does hit the fan there will be no one
else to blame but ourselves… So enjoy your the ride while it lasts and
do not forget to buckle your seat belts. It’s the law!

Last whole weekend was spent in the City of London...

In London squirrels are much friendlier then ones we have back in New
York. It is not every day that a squirrel almost reaches out to me and
wants to give me “high five” ;)

Same thing goes for Hare Krishna’s of London. Unlike in New York they
actually look like they are enjoying what they are doing. In this case
dancing around like maniacs on a busy street. Ours on the other hand
just persistently try to convince me that I should abandon my natural
desire to have sexual intercourse, so that I may find meaning of life
outside of physical pleasure. How utterly unconvincing…

I got to see the fenced in Parliament building. It was not exciting…

But the guard dressed in red outfit was kind of neat looking. He also
was very still. That is his job. To try and not move too much. I wonder
what happens if his butt itches?

Anti-war protesting just around the corner by Westminster Abbey…

And here is the abbey itself, a really magnificent Gothic style church!

I really liked the artwork on the front of it located right above the
door. Jesus himself and all his little helpers have gathered here ;)

A short walk over and looking at Big Ben over the river. That’s one
tall and big clock!

Captured a very remarkable view of same as well as London Eye from a
far distance…

In London, one of the most popular and stylish colors right now is
pink. Not only for women, but also for men and for taxi cabs. I knew I
was onto something all along ;)

I saw a sign for “Temple Bar” and followed it. Was hoping for an old
English pub (have been drinking quite a bit in this country and was
thirsty). Ended up at a historic site with no booze anywhere in sight.
This is the oldest surviving original gate of London. I fell for a
tourist trap, like totally...

As I was riding a bus I was wondering. Does this notice apply to those
who are too wasted to maintain their balance? And if that is one of
probable interpretations then I guess being too politically correct has
its drawbacks sometimes!

I had no idea London was a corporation. That is one sweet company logo
they have ;)

Hey, a pay toilet in the middle of the street. That is not a bad business idea! I guess they are a corporation after all…

It was getting late and I was in the mood to go out and party. My hotel
in King’s Cross was centrally located to all major dance clubs
(intentionally planned). It is so much easier to get home when you are
wasted, tired and just a short walk away. The girlies were ready to go
out and party as well!

I ended up in the Cross club, which was recommended for best house
music. Place was cozy, but the scene was kind of lame. People hardly
danced and music was mediocre. I had really hoped for better. I guess I
am quite spoiled by New York City scene and although our squirrels are
rabid and aggressive, our dance scene is matchless. This Thursday
AK1200 is coming to visit us in NYC and on Saturday I will be
captivated by Derrick Carter himself. This is going to be one good
week ;)

Friday we set off on a ferry to the Isle of Wight, one of many England
islands and one that was popular as a resort during Victorian times…

Roughly 150 sq miles in size it has one peculiar feature, the “needles”
(just some rocks really) sticking out at the western end of the island!

First stop was Carisbrooke Castle and probably the most interesting of
all the things I got to see in England so far. Yea, I guess I am a
sucker for all that old medieval stuff ;)

Why should I not be? Just look at the cool wardrobes they had back in
those good old days…

And so I sat on an old castle window and admired the surroundings,
thinking to myself how much I would like to visit more old castles just
like this one!

Progressively things got even more amazing. Suddenly, I was in the
world of magical castle donkeys that did not even have need of being
fed ;)

And because they are magical, medieval donkeys are also the cutest!!!

And they even perform magic tricks, like raising water from an old
underground castle well. Something humans simply refuse to do. Screw
manual labor…

And so British school children are mesmerized by this life changing
experience, especially the big eared retarded looking boy on the left ;)

Meanwhile, it was windy in the fields outside and the grass was flowing…

I saw a rabbit hole, but it was too small for me to fit into ;(

And then I saw its resident, this bunny was on the lookout for something!

I was totally onto something here. Could it be that my visit to the
Isle of Wight was to explore its amazing animal habitat? And there it
was; the key to my next discovery…

It was not long until I tracked down the owners of that colossally
marvelous poop. They did not seem too happy and tried to disappear, but
I was relentless ;)

This was definitely one of those mad cows you read about in the papers.
Perhaps it was upset that I accused it of not cleaning up after itself?

After looking around some more, I have found the perpetrator. This
filthy shit covered cow had a guilty look on its face. Success!

Explored some of the waterfront and saw some neat waves over the piers…

And this is St. Catherine’s light house. One of England’s older ones!

I bought some nice apple cider and boozed a whole bottle of it
inconspicuously from a Pepsi cup on the ferry ride back. I was really
nicely buzzed by the time I got back ;)

This weekend will be (was?) spent in London and I will update the site
soon, I promise!

We took a two hour train ride to Bath Spa. An amusing name, but given
to this city for a valid reason. Ancient Romans have come here in 1st
century to establish a worship shrine for goddess Minerva on the site
of an existing Celtic place of worship to the life-giving mother
goddess Sulis and also formed some hot natural baths to relax in ;)

The structure in front is an Abbey and triangular roof building on the
right was the actual Roman Bath museum which I had to shell out $20 to
get into. I considered using my ten year old student ID for a half-
price admission discount, but chances of pulling that one off in
Britain were in my estimated calculation slim to none. Formality was my
enemy in this country…

It was worth every penny spent however. Where else do you get to see
original stone remains of a temple back from Roman times?

This Roman coin has been cut on the edge to prevent it from even again
being used as a method of payment. Reason being that it was thrown into
the spring some 2000 years ago as a sacrifice to Sulis Minerva!

Not all offerings were monetary. This note for example, inscribed a
personal wish to have a thief punished for theft of some household
items. Curses like this one were believed to work and be listened to by
the goddess…

In 1981 original steps of Roman temple were excavated. And here they
are! Not too impressive, but definitely ancient ;)

And this is one of preserved carvings of the water goddess herself…

Because hot water was coming up from the ground and constantly moving,
it was necessary to create some sort of drainage system to keep the
water from getting stale. You are looking at the oldest plumbing scheme
in the world ;)

And here is me chilling at the main bath itself, just like the Romans
did. Sadly I could not swim in here, but I did get to touch the water
much to my risk of getting yelled at by some old British lady. It felt
very warm and smelled kind of funny, that made me sad…

As gases rise to the surface they create bubbles. It looks as if water
is actually boiling on the surface!

Even steam rooms were built into this complex by ancient Romans. These
brick pillars supported a floor. Space below allowed heat to circulate
warming the entire room!

There were few smaller baths and a sacrificial spring. As we walked
outside a very happy not too worried black guy who was supposed to be a
Jamaican but looked Nigerian was playing music and singing. The only
thing I wondered was how I learn to smile like that… Oh wait… I
remember exactly what to do now *cough cough* ;)

I was so inspired by the Roman baths that I decided to take a bath of
my own. Another smaller spa utilizing the same mineral water allowed
interested visitors to experience what it was like to be a Roman (well
sort of)…

So for another 20 bucks I splashed around in a 3 foot deep pool of very
warm mineral water. Roman walls surrounding it were original ancient
ones, but getting out of warm bath into the cold was a bitch. It
started raining too ;(

Dried myself with a towel and got dressed as fast as I could. Physical
discomfort is a real motivator ;) Walked around city some more. Much
beautiful Georgian architecture can be discovered here. Like this cross-
section of Gay Street (read upper left corner) and Circus ;)

It was starting to get quite miserable because of the rain, so it was
decided to turn back and head home. Yea… water is best, but not when it
pours on your head when you do not quite want it to….

On the way back to the train station I noticed the coolest British
grandma ever! Pink umbrella is priceless. I can only imagine what kind
of defensive beating she can dish out with that ;)

The entire two hour ride back I was watching the girl. I heard about
thumb suckers before, but to see one in person was quite fascinating.
What was really peculiar was that at times she woke up and recognized
me looking at her; she did not even for a brief moment consider
removing the thumb from her mouth. And this is when I started getting
all sort of naughty ideas in my head… if she likes having a thumb in
her mouth constantly, what else may she like very much?

I was quite starved from all the bathing experience. I and Jana had a
really nice dinner at a local pub. I had lamb with roasted potatoes. I
drank two pints of apple cider. Then I drank some of Jana’s really good
unfiltered beer. On the way home we were riding bicycles in the dark
through the park (this is how we got to train station every day for our
excursions). For the first time in my life I fell off a bike on my ass.
I have to admit I was quite drunk and riding on wet pavement did not
help. But really it was probably karma biting me in the ass for
thinking naughty thoughts of thumb sucking girl on the train ride back
home. But sometimes I just cannot help myself… ;)

I was walking excitedly towards Winchester Castle to see the large
wooden table that King Arthur and his knights (of round table) once sat…

And here it was, hanging on the wall. Much larger in reality than I really imagined it to be and quite massive in terms of mass as well!

It would be quite appropriate that this sign was right below it, as
such things could kill. But in actuality that sign was taken by me from
a barrack tower that was once a part of the castle structure

Interestingly enough, unlike brick construction of most stone castles,
walls of this old castle are made of dark flint rock like this…

Lastly I visited a little garden attached to Winchester Castle. There
were many appealing plants and even a neat functional miniature fountain

One of the plants stood out to me! Could it be… that King Arthur
himself? I got closer and sniffed the tempting green leaves… sadly it
was not quite the plant I was hoping for ;(

I walked some to arrive at this interesting city gate. What would one
imagine to be right above it?

A tiny cute little church of St. Swithun upon Kingsgate was in service
for 750 years. The man himself was an early English Bishop of
Winchester, now best known for the popular British weather lore proverb
that if it rains on Saint Swithun's day, 15 July, it will rain for 40
days and 40 nights!

Something you do not see every day… flowers growing on the walls,
neato ;)

Passed by a statue of king Alfred who was famous defending of the
kingdom against the Danish Vikings. That is some kickass equipment hes
got…

Next stop was the remains of Wolvesey castle. It was really fun
exploring the ruins!

I was so drained from all the walking that I ended up passing out on
this antique marble bench...

But the hood was under Good Samaritan watch and so I had to keep moving

It just so happened that I was napping in the back of one of largest
cathedrals in England, and even said to be the second longest and with
the longest nave in Europe!

Winchester Cathedral was without a doubt quite extensive inside…

Some quite remarkable granite bishop replica was on display along with
many others

I explored the cathedral and inside one of its wings found a really
charming little chapel!

This candle holder caught my attention. I would love to have the same
at my house…

On the board visitors have posted their wishes, and I decided to do
same. The only two things on my mind were cookies and a macro lens from
a day before ;)

Astonishingly I did get some cookies later that day. Some crunchy
almond biscotti that actually were not half bad. They came from a local
supermarket; does that count as a divine miracle? So I am still waiting
for the macro lens. It may be a long wait till Christmas. I guess I
should just be happy with what life brings. Cookies do it for the time
being. And I guess sometimes waiting for something is not the most
horrible of all things either. There are far much worse things that
could happen to one after all…

I am still to this moment not quite sure if this is just part of dry
British humor tradition or an unfortunate reality, but this tombstone
is in fact located directly at the cemetery directly in front of
Winchester Cathedral itself (do feel free to come here and look for
yourself). A death at age of 26 from violent fever that is caused by
drinking a small hot beer! Mad cow decease and the crazy chicken flu
not enough excitement for this one country? And so I shall not place my
bets on British humor being the case here and I think that I must be
incredibly vigilant while traveling around these parts from now on ;)
